This page is all about pictures – an anomaly on a site about reading aloud, perhaps … but the combination of the spoken word and visual images has been, for many of us, part of our earliest exposure to storytelling. So, since there are times when images can enhance the written/spoken word, this page belongs here. Browse if you’re interested.
The icons/buttons created for each story (‘very short‘, ‘short‘, ‘children’s‘ and ‘longer‘) are below in alphabetical order within their category. Click on the one you’d like to see in detail and you’ll be able to view a larger version as well as scan the entire gallery of icons.
extra pics for children’s stories
With children so used to having visual stimulation tied in with a story – whether it be through a picture book, a film or an app – I’ve endeavoured to create a few images to go with some of the children’s stories on the site for reading/listening. If you click on the story icon below, a new page will open with some pictures for that particular story.
